Garden walls
New walls, rebuilds, and repairs to walls that have failed. Most of the work is underground or on top of the wall, which is why nobody photographs it.

What it costs
A garden wall is priced from a measured take-off, in parts. The brickwork is £60 a square metre for the labour of laying a one-skin wall; a wall a brick thick is £120. Blockwork lays from £20 a square metre. The bricks, mortar, damp course and ties are the materials for your job, counted off the take-off and charged at cost plus ten per cent, or you can supply them yourself.
There’s usually more than one way to sort a wall out. Redoing the coping and the top joints is a smaller job than a rebuild, and on a lot of walls that’s all it needs.
